The opportunity
These openings are in both the CNC milling and Swiss machining departments, with first and second shift opportunities available. Depending on your background, you may focus on multi-axis milling, Swiss machining, or a combination of both.
They suit experienced machinists who enjoy being hands-on while also serving as a technical resource on the production floor: owning programming, setups, troubleshooting, process improvement, and new job launches, and helping support and develop other machinists.
Key responsibilities
Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for complex, tight-tolerance components
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and/or Swiss machining equipment, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis applications
Develop tooling, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining strategies
Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and manufacturing documentation
Support new job launches from programming and setup through production
Troubleshoot programming, setup, tooling, and machining issues on the production floor
Make program and process adjustments to improve quality, cycle time, tool life, and efficiency
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
Provide technical guidance to other machinists and help train and develop team members
Ideal profile
7–10+ years of CNC programming and machining experience preferred
Experience with CNC milling, Swiss machining, or both; multi-axis experience preferred
Strong knowledge of CNC programming principles, tooling, feeds and speeds, and machining processes
Experience machining complex, tight-tolerance components
Strong knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
CAM programming experience; Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or comparable software preferred
Experience with Haas, Mazak, FANUC, Citizen, Tsugami, Star, or comparable platforms is a plus
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring other machinists preferred
Medical device, aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or CNC certification preferred
Compensation & benefits
The posted pay range is $38 to $46 per hour. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off and paid holidays, a 401(k) with employer match, and opportunities for advancement.
