Junior Accountant – Entry Level

NextPlay Jobs is partnering with a well-established, growing organization in Rockford, IL, to hire a Junior Accountant to join its accounting team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate looking to launch their accounting career with a stable, successful company that is committed to training, mentorship, and professional development.
Location: Rockford, IL (100% Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key responsibilities
Perform bank reconciliations and assist with maintaining accurate financial records.
Learn and assist with preparing and posting journal entries.
Support the administration and reconciliation of company fuel credit card accounts.
Assist with tracking and maintaining company fleet records, including vehicle registrations and documentation.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting and administrative records.
Take on additional accounting responsibilities as you gain experience and develop your skills.
Ideal profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with relevant accounting coursework.
0–2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates with no experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Basic understanding of accounting principles through college coursework.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with a team.
Comfortable working onsite in Rockford, IL, five days per week.
