Salary
$38–$50/hr
About the company
A growing U.S. manufacturer and service provider of high-temperature industrial combustion equipment that is expanding its nationwide field service team. The organization continues to grow its service and rebuild operations and offers advancement toward Technical Specialist, Field Service Supervisor, and Service Manager roles.
The opportunity
This is a highly hands-on position for someone who enjoys diagnosing equipment problems in the field and working across mechanical, electrical, combustion, and refractory systems. The Senior Technician serves as a technical resource on complex service projects and may guide less-experienced technicians.
Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States. Relocation is not required, but extensive overnight travel, roughly 50 to 100 percent depending on project demand, is an essential part of the job. Technicians may travel for several days at a time, with occasional longer stays.
Field environments may include high temperatures, dust, confined spaces, elevated work areas, outdoor conditions, and extended shifts.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-performance issues at customer sites
Perform advanced field repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and rebuilds
Troubleshoot combustion-related equipment and components
Support equipment startups, testing, commissioning, and return-to-service activities
Assist with electrical troubleshooting, disconnect and reconnect work, controls, and related components
Support refractory repair and replacement projects involving brick, castable materials, ceramic fiber, and insulation
Read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and schematics
Document completed work and recommended follow-up, and communicate with customers about equipment condition
Provide technical guidance to developing field technicians
Ideal profile
Several years of hands-on industrial field service, maintenance, repair, or equipment troubleshooting experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose equipment problems independently
Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
Comfortable disassembling, repairing, rebuilding, and reassembling industrial equipment
Ability to read schematics, technical documentation, and equipment drawings
Experience working directly with customers in a field service environment
Comfortable with physically demanding work, heights, confined spaces, and high-temperature equipment
Willing and able to travel extensively, including overnight and multi-day assignments
Highly relevant backgrounds: industrial combustion systems, burners and gas-fired equipment, boilers, industrial furnaces, kilns, incineration, waste-to-energy, power generation, refractory systems, industrial ovens or thermal-processing equipment, and heavy industrial mechanical or electrical field service.
Compensation & benefits
$38 to $50 per hour depending on experience and technical capability, with the top of the range for technicians who bring advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, combustion, and refractory systems. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance with a company contribution, 14 days of PTO in the first year, paid federal holidays, paid travel time, a travel per diem, individual hotel accommodations, tool and safety-equipment support, and continued technical training.
