Industry
Utilities
Salary
$125,000–$175,000
About the company
A large, established utility and power-delivery organization supporting major transmission, distribution, and substation projects throughout the region.
The opportunity
These roles are for hands-on project professionals who understand utility construction and enjoy owning projects from planning and execution through financial closeout, working closely with customers, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is comfortable sitting in a customer meeting discussing budgets and schedules, then spending time in the field with project and construction teams, rather than operating strictly as a desk-based PM. Regional travel is required, and relocation assistance may be considered.
Key responsibilities
Manage utility construction projects through planning, execution, financial control, and closeout
Support transmission, distribution, and substation projects depending on experience and business needs
Own project schedules, budgets, costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance
Coordinate with field operations so projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to customer requirements
Work directly with customers on requirements, expectations, communication, and deliverables
Coordinate procurement, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources
Track costs, forecasts, change orders, and financial performance, and support contract administration and risk management
Identify project risks and develop solutions to stay on schedule and within budget
Provide regular updates to leadership, and lead and mentor project staff as scope allows
Ideal profile
3+ years of relevant experience in the utility, power-delivery, electrical construction, or related infrastructure industry
Experience managing projects involving budgets, schedules, costs, customers, and field execution
Strong understanding of construction project execution and financial management
Ability to read, understand, and manage against project schedules
Strong Excel and project reporting skills
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, with executive customers and field personnel alike
Willingness to travel as project and customer needs require
Preferred: transmission, distribution, or substation construction; utility contractor or EPC experience; procurement and subcontractor management; contract administration and change orders; Primavera P6 or MS Project; Power BI; and direct experience with utility customers. IT, software, general commercial, residential, design-only, or purely administrative project backgrounds are less aligned.
Compensation & benefits
Base salary generally ranges from $125,000 to $175,000 depending on experience and project scope, with exceptional candidates considered toward the top of the range. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off and company holidays, and professional development. Relocation assistance may be considered.
How to apply
Three ways to start the conversation.
Send your résumé, book a call, or apply straight from the LinkedIn posting. Whichever route you pick, one person handles your application from first reply to offer.
